Tucked away from the heart of the city of Candon, Ilocos Sur is a charming coffee shop that serves comfort food and coffee. Amian Cafe in Candon City (stylized as Amìan Café) prides itself on delivering premium high-end dishes and beverages. All of these are specially made and sourced from Northern Luzon.
Amian Cafe in Candon City: An Overview
Going to Amian Cafe in Candon City is pretty easy. If you’re driving along the national highway in Candon City, you can spot it beside a gasoline station (PTT Gasoline Station) before the diversion road and near the Calamayan Center.
Remember, this is before the central business district of the city if you’re driving from the North. It may be quite tricky to spot this coffee shop if you’re new to the place. Hence, I suggest looking for their wooden signage.
If you’re commuting from the North, you have two options to do. First, tell the driver to drop you off at the gasoline station before the diversion road. Second, once you have dropped off from the PUV terminal, take a tricycle to drive you to Amian Cafe.
There are a lot of seats outside the place which are perfect for al fresco dining. The sound of passing vehicles and the heat of the sun may bother you (as it has been for us). You can head indoors for a more relaxed ambiance instead.
Inside the cafe, there are a few seating options to choose from. It’s quite cramped, but I really love the interior of the cafe. It’s chic and modern, with a tinge of traditional interior design.
The ambiance of Amian Cafe in Candon is homey, and it makes me just want to untuck all my baggage and chill here.
Food and Services at Amian Cafe in Candon City
In terms of service, Amian Cafe in Candon City has implemented a self-service mechanism wherein you have to order at the counter. Then, you will have to get your coffee and your food from the counter once they are ready.
I can’t stress enough how delicious the dishes on their menu are. I’m really amazed at how the cafes in Candon have raised my standards in terms of cafe dishes.
Also, I really like that the names of their dishes have a tinge of Ilocano culture in them. Dishes such as “Gabriela Pinoy Toast,” “Diego Tocino,” and “Del Pilar Chicken and Waffles” got me intrigued the first time I went to this cafe.
As a sucker for breakfast food, I always look for such when going to various cafes. Luckily, Amian Cafe in Candon has breakfast dishes on its menu.
If you’re not fond of breakfast food, don’t worry. The cafe offers other dishes for you to try: pasta, burger, desserts (their tiramisu is top tier), and snacks. They also have healthy options if you’re conscious about what you eat.
In terms of beverages, they offer hot and cold coffee options. I tried their signature coffee – Amian Signature Latte – and it tasted delicious. They also have wine options if you’re into that.
What I also like about the place is how they advocate and promote the coffee beans of the Ilocos Sur uplands. They have pour-over options of coffee grounds from the towns of Sigay, Salcedo, and Gregorio del Pilar.
Wrapping Up
Amian Cafe has gotten the popularity it deserves, no doubt about it. Its charming ambiance, scrumptious dishes, and excellent coffee options are enough to make it a popular cafe choice when you are in Candon City.
I’ve gone to Amian Cafe in Candon City thrice already, but I feel that there are still a lot of dishes I haven’t tried. Might return again soon.
